Volunteers from Halte-Chaleur
Halte-Chaleur (Warm-Up Centre)
Halte-Chaleur (Warm-Up Centre) is a project created by a pastoral agent of the Catholic Church of
Montreal and supported by various community organizations.
The Catholic Church of Montreal stands alongside its partners to aid the homeless in the
Notre-Dame-de-Grâce neighbourhood.
In 2023-2024, Prévention CDN-NDG chose to host the Warm-Up Centre in a facility adjacent to the
MultiCaf dining hall. Services were launched December 1st and concluded on March 31st.
During this period, the centre has accommodated an average of 47 people each night, a significant
increase compared to the 2022-2023 average of 29 people per night. Some users have had to sleep in the
dining hall on certain nights due to space constraints.
It's never too early or too late, a small gesture can change a life.
