The SASMAD mission represents a pastoral response to our current society and its
challenges of loneliness and the loss of meaning in selflessness. My service with
SASMAD over the past few months, alongside two patients nearing the end of life
as per medical diagnoses, has taught me to see the PERSON beyond their
vulnerabilities and illnesses. Even if it’s for a short time here on Earth, we are
committed to living it fully. The joy and serenity that arise from this
strengthen my faith in Jesus, the Giver of Life.

CONNECT AND GROW Project
Three to four informal support meetings were held
for English-speaking volunteers.
SASMAD satellites
Following the Archdiocese of Quebec, the Diocese of Joliette
implemented its spiritual accompaniment service a year ago.
The Dioceses of St-Hyacinthe and St-Jean-Longueuil are
preparing to follow suit.
